Less than two months...

...until the first Open Water Swim race of the season.  Snapping Tortuga is back!  This year there will be three races (April 15, May 6 and June 10).  There is also a new distance, 500m, in addition to the 2.5k and 5k events.  All events will be held in Lake Conroe in Willis, North of Houston.

This is shaping up to be a great year for open water swimming.  There are already 11 announced events in Texas, Oklahoma and Arkansas, and a few events from past years have not officially announced dates yet.  For the current schedule of events in the Southwest check out the NTXOpenH2O Event Calendar.

Soon the triathlon clubs and swimming teams should begin announcing their workout schedules and then we'll really have a full calendar of OWS activities.  Keep checking the NTXOpenH2O Open Water Calendar for all the details.

See you in the water!
