New Races

Several new races have been announced for this summer and fall:

• Tulsa Swim - this is a new event on August 19 in Bristow, Oklahoma, near Tulsa.  The event has numerous distance options:  500m, 2000k, 4000k.  You can also combine the 500m with either the 2000k or 4000k (the "Doubler" option).
• Snapping Tortuga - this is the second year for this 500m/2.5k/5k swim in Conroe, Texas, north of Houston.  This year's event will be held on October 14.  We just came back from "The Snap is Back," another 500m/2.5k/5k event in the same location and put on by the same race director.  They are fun, well-organized events that you will definitely want to check out.
• The Bale of Tortuga - the Snapping Tortuga just announced this new event, a 10k solo/relay swim on November 10, also in Lake Conroe.  The full details have not been released yet but as soon as they are we will let you know.  There will be qualifying standards for the 10k solo swim.

There are now 14 open water swim events scheduled in Texas, Arkansas and Oklahoma!  There is something out there for everyone so register for a race and challenge yourself against the competition.  For complete details check out the NTX Open H2O Race Calendar.  And if you know of a race that isn't listed please let us know!
